I got the Sims Medieval from online through ORIGIN which is an Electronics Art company if I am not mistaken. It takes 8 hours or less at 3MB/s speed. Being frugal as a lifestyle, you only have enough money on a disability budget. I just want to send a thank you out to all the people who make it possible for me to enjoy life. I know I do not make the best decisions in my life; For instance, I bought a computer that I totally enjoy except it costs much money. The computer discs costs more than the computer itself. [LOL - well almost LOL] I give credit to my God who allowed me to somehow live this long. It is just a miracle that my God continued my ancestors through the ages so that countless generations have passed. Well, back to the game. In this game you get to be the one guiding the pixels. You get to create their characters from their physical traits to their clothing. One thing I have to caution you is that you should only get the online version if you know it could work offline. I mean what if the servers went off line? So it is better to always get the disc version as long as it fits your system. There is a patch out for the online version to fix certain things. I do not really know what they are, however, it is now working fine. The game seems to be based in a way on how God guides us. I think it is based on The Holy Bible. The narrations are pretty entertaining. So far, I like the MacBook Pro (early 2011) version compared to the PC version. Maybe it is because the PC version lags since the computer is 10 years old. You need a relatively powerful computer to run this game. Please check to see that you meet the minimum system requirements before purchasing. It seems fun to play and the characters are somewhat silly looking. However, it is rated for Teens and up. I guess it is a little complicated and somewhat of a grown up tale in there. You do have grown up stuffs to do like build your city from the grown-up so it is no easy task for a dummy like me. I actually started the game maybe 8 times so far trying to get through the introduction. hehe If Jesus Christ was here, I believe he would approve of this game for the entire family. However, they would have to sit all together and "chip" into the game. The sounds are vibrant and entertaining to me. I believe the producer of the game put in a great amount of time, attention, and detail. I believe this game might be hard at first from experience so far, however, it seems to grow on you.

This game was not what I was expecting, I read the other reviews and I wasn't expecting to be good, but I bought it anyway, out of curiousity and what do ya know, "don't let believe everything you read" really has true meaning.\n\nI'm glad I did buy on impulse, it really is a great game and time killer, also hello it's the Sims. This game might not have much options in the clothing and item department to buy, but plot of the story is good. You play the game till you win and then quit like everyone else, or you can make a new, and pick different things to do. Be a nice guy/gal or be an evil guy/gal, be an eccentric or be a genius.\n\nThis game rocks, I think... but not everybody likes the other Sims either like I do.

The Sims Medieval... something I waited for so patiently and followed very closely until it's release date. I expected a game that was going to be beyond my hopes... boy was I wrong! To start off with, the game really is beautiful. It's setting is lovely, characters are well made. But the game gets boring after literally only a couple of hours maximum. You have a quest that you choose, but while you're trying to figure out the quest on a time limit, you also have side responsibilities that really take up a lot of your time. The game is so repetitive and it's very slow to build up... I played for 4 hours one day and still only had 3 buildings in my kindgom. It's the kind of thing that bugs someone when you put in decent log time and have little to nothing to show for it. I honestly just ended up un-installing from my computer to make more room for games that I like better. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future, but it's one of those games that you really have to be in the mood for.

I was highly anticipating this game and when I finally got to play it, I was disappointed by everything. The game is extremely repetitive even when you go to the next stage. The quests are all the same and the layout doesn't change either. I really didn't like the fact that once your character got married or had children, you weren't able to play with them. The graphics were nice but I can honestly say it was NOT worth $50 especially since even though my computer has the capabilities to run the game, it ran very poorly. Not at all up to my expectations!

I really like this game. I like how you play on a story line, but the only thing is that this game is not as "Free play" as the other Sims games. The graphics are good as well. Another thing that disappointed me was that the Sims aren't in an actual neighborhood. The "neighborhood" is just a picture and you click the icon if you want to visit the castle and you can not see the whole castle. You only see one room at a time. Other than that the game is pretty fun and I like how you can give each sim different weaknesses and strengths.

Yes there will be graphics issues like the first person had, but that just means that you will need to have better then a 128 video card and 1 gig of ram. If you like castle games with alot of things to keep you busy then you might wanna try this game out.

A new way to play the sims
Reviewed on www.ebay.com·greatsavingshere
A new way to play the sims. Sims Medieval brings a whole new playing style to the gamer while still keeping some of the core values that we hold so dear to in sims 1-3. The game at first may give the gamer a little shock if he/she hasnt read anything on the game it self, but over time it becomes easy to master. The over all game play is extrealy easy. Some people have complanied about this... but when has the Sims ever been a difficult game? It is meant to be a game to sit back, relax, and be the puppet master of other peolpe since we are too lazy to live our own lives ous selves. But overall I am sure the game will become even better as the release DLC and users create custom content for the game. When the Sims 3 first came out I recall may people whining about how much the missed there Sims 2 perks... but afte ambitions and the other expanstions I havent heard a peep. would I suggest paying full market price for this game? Maybe not, I manage to find it half off on ebay one week after it hit the selves, so keep your eyes peeled, I do suggest any long term Sims fan give it a try.

THIS IS NOT A SIMS...
Reviewed on www.bestbuy.com
THIS IS NOT A SIMS ADD ON. IF THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR DO NOT BUY THIS.
Medieval was created to take the Sims in a new direction based more on story than family and town creating. You can take on the role of several different people in your medieval kingdom including but not limited to the king, a thief, and knight and a wizard. You can go on quests and such to earn money and loot and fame and things of that nature. Or you can ignore your sim and he'll die.
I've not done much with the game, but the first 2 posters here blindly purchased a Sims game without looking into it and thought it would be a Sims game where you get to build castles instead of houses and I'm trying to help others avoid this mistake.

Very diffrent from the sims, pretty good game.
Reviewed on www.ebay.co.uk·allynerin
The Sims Medieval is surprisingly pretty different from the normal sims games. You only control your sims when you pick a quest, meaning it does not have the normal free-style game play. However this also is better since you won't ever come to a point when you don't really know what to do next. If your sim is in a relationship normally you would get control of that sim as well. Though in The Sims Medieval you will still only have control of the sim currently involved in your current quest. Other then the limits of control and game play this game is very good since the game provides many different interactions, such as challenging other sims to duels or even sending them to the pit! I would recommend this game to any one who has Played The Sims and wants to mix up your game play style.

People who are reviewing this game and giving it 1 star are rediculous because they are reviewing the product because they rushed out and bought the game without even reading or knowing anything about the game. Yes, it's a bit different that the other Sims titles. Its more of an RPG than the Sims type game but its so much fun! If you like fantasy type, medieval RPGs and even if you like the Sims and can actually have an OPEN MIND you will find a very fun, long lasting, beautiful game to enjoy here. And to all you people who are complaing about it not being a sims 3 expansion pack, next time you will learn to research the game or accept that games go through changes FOR THE BETTER.

As an RPG/MMO fanatic I found this game very interesting. I absolutely hated all of the other sims games but when I saw they made a Medieval one i had to try it. I loved this game instantly and there is so much you can do. Multiple heroes, quests, everything. Definitely recommend this but it is a lot different than the other sims games. If you're looking for a game exactly like the previous ones, this isn't your game. However if you're looking for a unique game and love the medieval settings, this game is great. =D
