Mircrosoft Windows 10 Professional 64 Bit Edition did install successfully on my \n\nnewly purchased Dell Inspiron i5559 laptop. The only thing I noticed different \n\nfrom the originally loaded Microsoft Windows 10 Home is: The "MS Key + X" \n\nfunction does not work correctly on this Professional version load. The function of \n\nthe "MS Key + X" does work correctly on three computers that I upgraded \n\nsuccessfully from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Professional during the \n\nfree upgrade period. Everything else, is working okay; USB ports, camera, internal \n\nWi-Fi, HDMI port and all keyboard functions okay. If there is a MS fix, please let me \n\nknow.

Walmart kills on Win 10 Pro OEM. Nobody can touch their price.\nThey delivered two day ahead of the sched date (a plus).\nAnd the software installed as expected. No complaints there either.\nOnly caveat: This is OEM software and if you don't understand that term you probably should not be installing it. It is NOT an upgrade, just so long as you understand that, then no surprises.

From my understanding it's perfectly OK to install this on a new build as long as you realize Microsoft will offer you no support. Also, you cannot transfer this license to another machine. OEM installs of Windows will live on that machine indefinitely. I downloaded the OS from Microsoft as an ISO and didn't use the media DVD. It activated perfectly fine with no issue.

About the only real complaint I have, which is probably due to my not being up to speed on all the ways to customize it, is that the user interface in Edge/Explorer is pretty bland and the menu of things you can do along the top has been jumbled up and labeled with icons that aren't exactly intuitive if you've had decades to get used to what came before. After years of faithful service...
Reviewed on www.ebay.co.uk·kitcat7573
After years of faithful service my old desktop - running VIsta - became too difficult to use since support for the old OS is gone now. I did try - just as I begun grad school - to continue after many years in the PC Windows world to buy a new PC laptop in 2013. I had a HUGE stack of books on my reading list for school and that laptop - running Windows 8 - was a nightmare. I simply didn't want to take a moment of time to learn how to use things I already knew how to use with Microsoft Office so I took that Win 8 laptop RIGHT back to the store and instead purchased my first new Mac.\n\nI swore off anything new from Windows after that...\n\nMy old desktop however good it might have been a few years ago, just became obsolete. I purchased a new Mac Mini, but at work my job gives us a free install of Windows Office for home use. One of the things I like having at my disposal is Microsoft Publisher. I also use a lot of other graphics software but for those of us who use graphics frequently publisher has it's benefits.\n\nSO I purchased Parallels to run Windows on my desktop (and my Mac Laptop too) but needed to have the Windows Operating system to use it.\n\nThis product works very very well! Windows 10 installed easily on my Mac with Parallels. Since I'd never tried using 2 different OS on a computer I was concerned about the process but everything worked well together seamlessly.\n\nThe bonus for me is that with two monitors, I can have BOTH operating systems open side by side while I work. The price was great and the seller started communication ahead of my asking for any assistance.\n\nAll in all one of the best tech software purchases I've made in a long time.\n\nI'm considering buying a second one to upgrade an older Win 7 laptop and my dear old Vista desktop. Both of those also contain perpetual software that I don't want to lose, which is the downside of considering an upgrade on older Windows machines.\n\nGreat price for Windows 10 and an easy install make this a really great purchase.

New life in an old(ish) machine.

I purchased a 9 year old all-in-one desk top computer (decent spec, core 2 processor and 4G Ram) that was running Windows Vista. There was nothing on this machine of any use to me so I did a clean install as I don't think it's possible to upgrade from Vista to Windows 10. Easy to install, the only thing to remember is that during the 1st stage of installation delete all the old partitions that are listed, click on each partition and select 'delete'. Windows 10 will then create a new partition, and away you go. Worked perfectly for me. You can 'skip' entering the product key if you like until you're happy with the installation and everything works, then just go into 'settings' and 'activate Windows' with the key provided.I purchased a 9 year old all-in-one desk top computer (decent spec, core 2 processor and 4G Ram) that was running Windows Vista. I had windows 10 Home addition and purchased Windows 10 Pro addition.\n\nI decided to purchase a new hard drive so the original hard drive in my Envy would stay as new in case there were problems upgrading to windows 10 Pro.\n\nWindows 10 Home addition was a lot easier to run and drive over the windows 8 addition, plus it had much the same feel as a window 7 Pro machine. I do networking and engineering so I wanted to upgrade to the Pro addition.\n\nI was surprised the pro addition came on a USB drive.\n\nI installed a new Hybrid 1 Terabyte Hard drive then loaded the Pro, per the instructions, setting the computer up to load from the USB Drive.\n\nI was amazed at the speed the windows 10 operating system installed. After 20 minutes it was up and running.\n\nHOWEVER, it only installed the Windows 10 Home edition, NOT the PRO addition. I went to best buy and asked why, but they couldn't help me. My son does computer networking and told me to use the license Key and change the key that was displayed when I looked at the computer info page. I saw I could change the license key and lo and behold it loaded the files necessary for Window 10 Pro.\n\nSo if you buy the full blown version of Windows 10 Pro you don't need to reinstall the whole operating system, you just need to change the license Key and it will load those programs necessary for pro and you are ready to run your computer.

Buyer beware: Windows 10 drivers issues
Reviewed on www.bestbuy.com·ArmyGirl
Windows 10 is a better OS to the previous 7 & 8 OS', however it does have issues with loading drivers for full functionality of your computer system. I tried installing this on my MacBook Pro using the utility on the Mac and after installation I had issues with my Bluetooth and speakers. I ended up reinstalling the Bluetooth driver individually and then it started to work but no matter what I did, I couldn't get sound to come from the speakers. If I plugged headphones, I could get sound. I did a lot of research and even went to an Apple Store but nothing I did could fix the speaker problem. Also thru web searches, many computer we're having similar issues. I ended up upgrading to parallel 11 and then installing Windows 10 in the virtual environment and it worked fine from there with no Bluetooth or sound issues. IE even works with my military CAC to read and send encrypted emails using s/mime. However I am still having issues with DTS.

Edited on 04/0422: An additional warning
I just upgraded two of my systems to Dell XPS 8930. Windows 7 will not even install on these machines. Microsoft and Intel have dropped all support for Win 7 on chips newer than Skylake, so all Core iX systems above the 6000 series must be loaded with windows 10 or above. I'd guess that Linux will be a pain to configure also, thanks to secure boot.Read Less

So Far the Best Step Up in WINDOWS since DOS

My Machine originally tried to go through the FREE upgrade from 7 Pro to Windows 10 and got tangle up beyond repair. Machine would not boot cleanly. It renamed me to my email address and locked me out of ADMIN level. Printer would not work with upgrade. it reverted to 7 Pro and lost LOTS.
I guess free gets you what you pay for it in the end.
I bought the full install from the stick and have reloaded everything and did file restore from my cloud backup account and now runs smoothly.
I also decided to move to OFFICE 365 to be sure everything worked together. $70 / year seems like a fair price if you never have to worry about patches and fixes to local install.
I am still learning the different places things are hidden but I am flying along.

(Win 64) provides most of what I needed in drivers, but there where issues when I tried to run my Asus motherboard CD. It would not mount, nor could it see the programs on the CD. I was able to get generic drivers online, but that can be a hassle if you don't know where to look.

That will be followed by well over 100 windows updates to download and install. Once all this is completed the computer will function just as it did the day it was new.
