Chimaira was an American heavy metal band formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1998, known for blending groove metal, metalcore, and thrash influences. Their second album, The Impossibility of Reason (2003), released via Roadrunner Records, is widely regarded as their breakthrough. The lineup on the album featured Mark Hunter (vocals), Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries (guitars), Jim LaMarca (bass), and Andols Herrick (drums).
