Christa Gail Pike was 18 years old when, on January 12, 1995, along with her boyfriend Tadaryl Shipp and Shadolla Peterson, she lured her 19-year-old classmate Colleen Slemmer to a secluded area of the University of Tennessee’s agricultural campus in Knoxville. There, Pike beat her, tortured her for about 30 minutes, carved a pentagram into her chest, and ultimately crushed her skull with a piece of asphalt, even keeping a fragment of bone as a souvenir.
